So I am a super bad blogger because I saw this post at a fellow blogger's site and copied the questions and forgot to save where it came from! If it is you, just let me know, and I will definitely give you some credit because I love these questions! Here is some Thursday fun for all of you!
How did you parents decide on your name?
Well, it need to start with a "K" because my sister's name started with a K. It also needed to be short because my parents wanted names that were short in length. And lastly, I think I had a great-grandmother (?maybe) named Katherine...so that is where they got Katie from. My middle name comes from my grandmother's middle name, Mae.
Did you take your middle name from childhood or did you drop your middle name and take your maidenname as your middle name? (Or if unmarried, what do you plan to do?)
I was definitely traditional and took my husband's last name. I was very excited because he has a some-what easy to spell last name. My maiden name was impossible to say and spell for other people for some reason.
Are you or will you name your children systematically (ie, same first letter, same origin, etc?)
Hmmm probably not. Although I really like that the girls in my family start with a "K" and the boy's names start with a "C."
Did you want to change your name when you were little?
I LOVED the name Jennifer. For some reason, I just wanted my name to be that so much!
Does your family have any names that have been passed down through generations?
My father's first name was passed down to my brother's middle name. And like I mentioned before I received my grandmother's middle name for my middle name. If I am blessed with a little girl sometime in the future, I hope to pass Mae down as her middle name to!
Do you look at the meaning of the name or just the name itself?
I just look at the name. However, I must say that I love most names. I really don't have a problem with celebrities naming their children wild and crazy names. I feel like every name is cool and somehow fits the person.
Do you name pet names with human names or "dog" names?
Well I have only had two pets in my life. One was a betta fish named Rudy and our little dog now is named Brutus. So I would say I like "dog" names. However, Mr. Bruts is strictly named after the OSU mascot, go Buckeyes!
Are there any names that you have an affinity or dislike for based on a childhood experience or someone you once knew?
Yes! My parents work in the school system and swear there are certain names that you "should-not" name your children. SO I would definitely check with them first!
What are some of your favorite names and why?
Well...Derek and I definitely have girl and boy names picked out already. However, I will not mention those until it comes time for that...and that will be for a long while.

this is what happened to me too, I was SO happy to have a new, easy to say last name :-)
This was really cute! I can't believe you loved the name Jennifer... I was always annoyed that so many other girls had the same name! I love the names Katherine, Kate, and Katie. We actually thought about using one of those for our little one, but my boss is named Katy, and I thought it would be weird if they shared the same name. :)
Love this idea! I may have to copy you!:) Great post!! Go get you some free magazines... it helps a lot! :) I thought I had followed your blog, but obviously I hadn't, so we are now NEW FOLLOWERS!! Have a great day!!
