I have been seeing so many of the recaps- AND, I love them! So, I decided to recap our 2011 for you. I know this is what everybody says, but when looking back at pictures to put in this post- I can’t believe this year is finished!! It seriously just seems like yesterday we were building our house! Carazy how fast this year went!

I started this little old blog! I had been blogging for over a year on a private website. I decided to take my marriage blog to blogspot because I followed so many friends on blogspot. It has been so much fun getting to know all of you. And thank you for all of your sweet words and advice!
We brought in the New Year in Naples Florida last year. We were visiting our friend, Mike, who is going to law school there. *Side Note- Mike is coming tomorrow to visit for New Years, and we are so excited to see him!!!

London Nicole was born! She is my 4th niece! It is amazing how she looks soooo much like my brother :–)
Brutus started taking more to his newest cousin, Zeus! He was soooo little here!

Derek and I took our first cooking class together. It was something I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do! Of course, it was pizza! YUM!
After looking around for houses, we decided to build. At the end of February, we picked a lot and we were ecstatic to say the least!!!

Derek and I took a trip to Chicago. We LOVE Chicago! This time, we made a stop by Sprinkles cupcakery. So good!

As President of my graduate class, I planned the last event for our class. It was the last semester for our didactic portion of our Master’s Program so we had a supper to conclude our time at the University. It was such a success and so much fun. In fact, the Chair of the program said it was the best last event they have ever had!

Derek’s birthday! Unfortunately, the day after his birthday, his lung collapsed. It was the first time for him to be in the hospital so it was pretty scary. A day after he was discharged, it happened again! This time he was forced to have emergency surgery to make sure it never happened again. Luckily, his experience was pretty positive and he now feels better than ever!

We MOVED! Ugh, moving is awful! Not to mention I had just started my residency so it made moving really bad! However, it was so much fun seeing our house come together and we were nothing but excited to move in and start putting our house together on the inside!
July, 2011
My Dad and Step-Mom, Susan came to visit from South Dakota. Derek and I were so excited to show our house off and also excited to have my dad help with some projects. He helped us with our dining room and office. This was a special visit because it was right before it was decided he needed a bone marrow transplant.
My birthday! Derek surprised me by taking me to a wine tasting and having a lot of my friends there! We had so much fun and also won an iPad!! Definitely icing on the cake that night!

This month was filled with house projects. Hanging pictures, painting rooms, organizing storage/garage, etc! Literally, we were doing house projects every night during this month! We still have a lot to do but are very happy moving at a slower pace now!

The infamous keg picture…..the only picture we took during our big house-warming party! Although I felt horrible that night, it was so great having our friends come over and check out the house! Thanks to everybody who came!

We got our landscaping!!
