16 Week Update!

DSC_1956blogeditborrowing this template from Kate!

Due Date: November 8, 2013 (My mother-in-law’s birthday!)

Gender: Unknown at this point…we find out in less than 2 weeks!!!

Movement: Nothing yet!  BUT, you better believe I’m waiting for this moment!

Feeling: Like myself!!  FINALLY!  This week I finally started feeling back to my normal happy self.  Just ask my husband, the past couple/three weeks have been a bit interesting.  I was such a emotional/moody/irritable pregnant woman!  Thank goodness my hormones are under control now.  My energy level is starting to feel back to normal too.  I finally bought my first pair of maternity work pants yesterday and cannot wait until they get here!!  Seriously, although I have no official “bump” right now, my pants are getting tight.

Food Cravings: No cravings yet.  I’m learning how to eat more smaller meals throughout the day.  Before I got pregnant, I ate 3 meals a day.  Period!  I was not a big snacker at all.  I learned quick how important it is to eat often when pregnant.  One time around week 10 I went to long without eating and my body basically started shutting down.  Awful, awful, awful!  Never want to feel like that again.  So, I’ve added some healthy snacks like fruit every couple of hours and that has helped a lot!

Food Aversions: Beef, seafood (especially salmon)….it’s been hard to figure out what to eat during this pregnancy.  Nothing ever really sounds good to eat.  So meal planning has been impossible!  However, tacos/mexican always sounds good!

Clothes: Everything the same.  Looking forward when I can show off my bump!

Stretch Marks: I’ll let you know in a couple of months….hopefully none!!!

Sleep: Sleep is great.  As I mentioned, I’m not as tired and can stay up until 10:30/11:00pm now (yay!).  Crazy dreams every night…mostly around alcohol.  LOL, my body knows what’s up and would love a beer or glass of wine right now.

Symptoms: Peeing a lot, some tailbone pain, headaches (less frequent in the last week), and dry skin.

What I Miss: Alcohol, blue cheese, and that’s about it.  Seriously, once I’m not pregnant I’m going to make a whole meal out of blue cheese and alcohol haha!

Best Moment: Finally feeling like my happy self again!  Bat crazy hormones, you can stay away forever!

Memorable Moments: Buying my first pair of maternity pants…Eeek!  Planning our gender reveal party.  Celebrating Derek’s birthday this week.  Looking forward to Jen’s wedding this weekend.  Wish me good luck fitting in this teeny tiny dress!

Hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Awww Katie-Mama!! I love how you set this up and I'm so excited for this journey! You are just glowing! Are you guys planning on doing a gender reveal party? My friends just did one with their best friends (sister in law).. they had the person who did the sonogram put the results in an envelope and they gave it to their friend. Their friend had a party and put the balloons in the color of the gender in a box and at the party my friends opened it-- big surprise. Anyway-- I'm so glad you are feeling better! xoxo

Your due date is my Dad's birthday as well, so that's a great date! ;)

I've heard little meals are life savers in the beginning.

I can not WAIT for your gender reveal! If you ever have questions about how I did stuff for sisters baby shower, let me know!

Yay, feeling yourself again! That's so great. Movement and starting to bump out are in your pretty near future :) And though it's kinda hard to start giving up the regular pants (I can still fit into a few!), that maternity waistband turns out to be soooo much more comfortable.
