I apologize for annoyingly mentioning the nursery 1,356 times over the past few months and not showing any previews! I just wanted to wait until it was completely finished. Well…it’s not all the way done, but almost! And we could not be more in love with how it turned out!
The inspiration for the nursery came from our gender reveal party. Whether it was a boy or girl, I knew I wanted to keep with the rustic theme that Derek and I love. Once we found out we were having a girl, I was thrown for a loop. I was unsure of how to keep it girly and feminine. THEN, I saw this lamp at Hobby Lobby…
…and I was convinced I could make it happen.
We did the pink accent wall with flat and glossy paint in the same color. I am obsessed with how it turned out! Subtle but noticeable. It is exactly how I was imagining it.
The ladder I found with my mom from an antique store is perfect for storing blankets. I also lucked out with the crib skirt/bumper from Target (of all places!). The burlap and ruffles were just what I was looking for!
Speaking of ruffles, I found these amazing black out curtains from Pottery Barn kids. The tie-backs are from the Christmas section at Land of Nod.
I knew I wanted to use as many things from our gender reveal as possible in the nursery. The “cute as a button” banner went above the changing table/dresser. I also reused the gold polka dotted burlap underneath the glass top on the dresser.
We actually purchased this dresser from Ikea. Derek was amazing and painted the molding gold. We attached the molding and changed out the hardware to the gold ring pulls. Here’s a closer look…
The chair we cannot wait to rock our little girl in :)
A huge shout out to Derek for hanging this chandelier and medallion. This may be my favorite piece in the whole room!
I used one of the rustic frames we had at the gender reveal to hang all her little hair bows/bands. Also, below are the spice racks from Ikea that I refinished. Obviously, she needs some books, but for now she has “Buckeyes A to Z” displayed up there. They are fairly low so she is able to go and pick out books herself when she gets a little older. Here is how they look refinished….
We love how distressed they look. I plan on doing the same method for a pallet project that will go above her crib. Except, I’m not planning on starting this project until October because it will display her name. We aren’t announcing her name until she is born so I want to make sure this is one of the last things to be done in her room. Other than that, Derek just needs to hang an extra shelf in the closet.
So, what do you think?

I absolutely LOVE the nursery! It's so cute (as a button, lol). Is there anything in the lamp? I've taken empty lamps and put small strands of Christmas lights in them to use as a night light before-- they look really cute and it will give the room some extra flare! Just an idea. Loving this!! XOXO
