It's So Good to be Home!

Source
First of all thank you so so SO much for all of your sweet and thoughtful comments!  The Blogger community is so fantastic!  So just a quick recap- Derek woke up on Sunday with some pressure on his chest (mind you, this is the day after his birthday...what a great present)!  Our general rule of thumb is wait at least 24 hours before going to a doctor to see if your body naturally recovers.

On Monday morning we decided to go to the emergency room right away because Derek was feeling a lot worse.  There was a lot of pressure and pain.  We didn't have to wait long in the ER (thankfully); however, we got the news that he had a pneumothorax on his left side very fast.  His left lung was collapsed and the air was making it hard to breathe.  As soon as we knew it, there was a doc putting in a chest tube.

Derek stayed that night in the hospital.  Derek had a great recovery and started feeling a lot better the next day.  After a chest x-ray, the thoracic surgeon gave Derek the ok to get the tube removed.  We He came home last night.

Unfortunately Derek feels a little under the weather today but we are hoping that he starts getting back to normal tomorrow!

Again, thanks so much for all the thoughts!  Stay tuned tomorrow for MAJOR updated house pictures!  And later, yummy recipes, new (long-over-due) Sephora makeup reviews, and some fun facts for you!

Have a good rest of the week!

Oh my gosh - I was out of town and haven't had a chance to catch up on all of my blog reads yet, so I missed your previous post. I am so sorry what what you both have gone through, but am SO happy to hear that he's okay. A collapsed lung? My God, that's a HUGE deal! So so glad he's feeling better and that you had a great hospital to bring him to!!

So I'm still lost, how did get this to happen to him? was it something he did the day before? I guess you just don't hear of people's lungs collapsing randomly all that often! Just curious! :) Glad he is doing better!
