Let's Talk Outfits!

So, I got the most perfect dress for New Years this year. And when I say perfect, I mean the dress that I had pictured forever. I found it at this little place called Michael Kors, you’ve heard of it, right :–)

Our Michael Kors store in the mall just opened so I had to go check it out. I was actually disappointed to see mainly bags and shoes. However with the 10 pieces of garments that they did have…..they had one dress there that was exactly what I was picturing AND it was in my size. Oh, ANNNNND it was on sale! What was that, you want to see it? OK, ok….

So, I’ve always wanted a mini dress will long sleeves. And it has sequins which is soooo needed on New Years, right?

Ever since Kelly Bensimon wore this hot little white number on RHWofNY, I knew I NEEDED one of these babies:

I know, Kelly’s is a little too short. And I promise you that mine is not. But here is my problem. The dress is black, and since it is the winter in Ohio, I will be wearing black tights…..so how do I spruce up this little dress??

Usually shoes are the best thing and easiest to do this…..but I kinda want to wear black shoes because the dress is sequin and sparkly…..I feel like it may be too much with a colored shoe.

Maybe some jewelry, spice up the hair (top-knot via sock-bun, yes I know I need to still do a tutorial….working on it, I promise!), wavy curls, dramatic make-up, colored clutch…..

Any ideas, ladies?

First of all, LOVE the dress! Second, I think black tights and black shoes are the way to go even though it feels like a lot of black. I've tried to break up all black with colored tights and it just didn't work. Anyhoo, what about a bright bag? Like a silver or gold or red?! I can't wait to see photos! You are going to look fantastic in that dress!!

If you don't want to do all black, try colored tights! Not anything to wild, unless you're comfortable enough with it - which I definitely am not. Maybe silver, or a holiday color? It's a cute look on a lot of people though! I thought I wore a lot of black on Christmas Eve but it ended up looking really nice (at least I thought so!) You could add colored accessories too! Like a purse or bangles or something?! Hope it helps! Usually I'm the one seeking fashion advice too!

I hope you have a VERY Happy New Year! I can't wait to see what you decided to do!

i love your dress! it's perfect! hmm, i think a clutch would be perfect ... one with some color of course! but i agree, with not having colored shoes. and do you have to wear tights? because if it is not too cold that would be even better :)

LOVE the dress! Don't you wish Ohio winters didn't require covering our legs?! lol I would say definitely get a colorful clutch and do something fun with your hair - I like the loose curls idea! Maybe a fun nail color too!

Love, love the dress. Color for the bag. Hair up--keep it simple though. Wear your new shoes. You will look smashing.

You definitely could use some bangles and a necklace or earring for a pop of color!

Honestly, I think black is so sexy and elegant.. you won't need much!
