Weekend Recap!

Sorry for my blogging absence last week.  Derek and I decided, last minute, to go to Mexico.  What's that...didn't we just go on a vacation?  The answer to that is yes.  But we thought, what the heck "c'est la vie" right?

YA.RIGHT!  Totally just pulling your leg on that.  I decided to forgo blogging last week and watch Lifetime movies every night.  And this my friends, I am not joking about.  Lifetime movies are no joke.  In fact, pretty much every single one of them scares the crap out of me.

Anyway, I'm back for a little weekend recap.

So, we took a break from house decorating about 6 months ago in preparation for Italy.  NOW we are back full force.  First, I added a little Thanksgiving picture that I printed from Pinterest.  For all of you that are on Instagram, you know that I was a little skeptical about this frame with our brick of our fireplace.  But I've grown to love it so thanks for all of your comments!

We have always wanted some artwork for over our couch in the family room.  However, I'm big on photos that we take ourselves, so I wanted to wait until we got back from Italy.  We chose a photo Derek took of Manarola and used Canvas on Demand because of a groupon.  I've always wanted a triptych and we are super happy with the quality.  HOWEVER, Derek was in a big hurry to hang these, and in my opinion, they need to be spaced out a bit more.  We are in a disagreement, but we all know when it comes to decorating, the wife gets the last say. Right?  Right!

Friday night we had our annual house party.  You can read about last years here, but I wouldn't go check it out if I were you because I only took a picture of the keg.  However, I was much better this year with the photos!  We had a super great group of friends come and had such a great night!!  The party lasted into the early hours of Saturday morning.

We went and saw Argo today.  Not at all what I thought it would be!  But it was definitely entertaining and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Hope you had a great weekend!

LOVE the photo! I agree with artwork being that of your pictures. It could be spaced out a tad bit more, but it still works!!!! I'm jealous you went to Italy!!!

I love the canvas wall art! I have no design skill so I won't comment on the spacing (looks great to me!), but I'm a firm believer in letting the lady have what she wants in the home :)

What are lifetime movies? I cannot watch scary movies as they seem to haunt me forever. Personal artwork/photos are the best! I've always wanted to enlarge and black/white our trip photos for the living room. So much more sentimental!

Love how your triptych turned out! I bought a groupon from them too and haven't used it yet... waiting until I have the right photo! Maybe I need to go to Italy too ;-)

I really love your mantle frame (the way you change it for holidays, etc)-- I know I'm a little behind in posts but it's because I just found your blog today.. what a neat idea. It makes me wish we had a fireplace/mantle. We live in a studio apt (for now-- until we move from sunny Pensacola, FL to cold, snowy Alaska *did I mention I've never seen snow*).. so I don't know where I would put such a cute decoration..... Ideas??
